Lawyers for Veterans Project

The Board of Governors along with the Oregon New Lawyers Division are focusing efforts on providing services to active and veteran members of the military. In order to handle VA Disability Claims, attorneys must be accredited by the Department of Veterans Affairs, a process that can take up to 90 days. Later in the year, after you are accredited, look to the Oregon State Bar for a training CLE to finalize your accreditation process. If you are interested in this area of practice and would like to learn more about getting accredited go to http://www.va.gov/ogc/accred_faqs.asp. If you are ready to apply for accreditation you can access the application online at http://www.va.gov/vaforms/va/pdf/VA21a.pdf.
